EU UPDATE: Anti Dumping - Potassium Chloride
The longest surviving EU anti-dumping measures expired at midnight on 13 July 2011.
To give some idea of how long "long" can be - these measures were commenced by an investigation which started in October 1990. The exporting nation was the USSR and the European Commission would therefore have sent its notice to President Gorbachev's administration.
The Commission's notice (see at OJEU 2011 C 206/10) simply confirms that the measures expired because the EU industry did not request an extension.
As with so many things in life, such a simple explanation leaves the reader without any idea of the work and effort that was undertaken by some many parties in order to achieve this outcome.
