EU UPDATE: Trade Defence

"Here comes the Sun"(*) - or does it.

A long running saga reaches its end game this week as the EU Commission decides whether or not to initiate investigations into imports of solar panels from China.

If the EU does initiate it looks likely that China will respond with its own investigation into imports of wine from the EU.

Both cases would raise substantial issues of product definition, like product, injury analysis and ultimately the goals of imposing trade defence measures.
